This Privacy Policy explains how TellTours ("TellTours", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TellTours mobile app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account or join the beta waitlist, we collect your email address.
- Location data. With your permission, the app uses your device's precise location in real time to find nearby points of interest and narrate them as you move. Location is used while you actively use the app (including in the background during an active tour) and is not stored on our servers as a location history.
- App content. Saved tours, visited landmarks, and preferences are stored on your device and may be synced to your account so they are available across devices.
- Usage and device data. We may collect basic, non-identifying information such as app version, device type, and crash diagnostics to keep the Service reliable.
2. How we use information
- To provide the core experience: finding nearby places, building tours, and generating audio narration.
- To sync your saved tours and preferences to your account.
- To contact you about the beta, important Service updates, and support requests.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
3. Third-party services
To deliver tours, narration, and maps, TellTours shares the minimum necessary data (such as coordinates or place names) with trusted providers, including:
- Google Cloud Platform for hosting and database (Firestore).
- Google Maps Platform for maps, places, directions, and text-to-speech.
- OpenTripMap and Wikipedia for points of interest and editorial summaries.
- AI providers (such as Google Gemini and Groq) for generating tour plans and narration text.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We keep account and waitlist data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion at any time (see "Your rights").
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent for location access at any time through your device settings. To exercise these rights, contact info@telltours.com.
6. Children's privacy
TellTours is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will notify you.
